D.O.A. is the sort of film noir that gets better with repeat viewings. While the story is a little inconsistent and goofy at times with wolf whistles and dumb dialogue, it's simplicity is overlooked for just how brilliant it is in its effectiveness. It's a solid example of film noir and the dialogue, visuals and scenes work beautifully more often than not as a fairly simple plot is complicated by a series of suspects, who range from silly to sadistic. If you like Film Noir as a genre, D.O.A. is a must-see.
